Rebecca initially became interested in finance by following in her Father’s footsteps, who was a successful financial advisor. Through her experience working for one of the big banks in NZ, she has a range of knowledge including insurance, lending, and investing. She takes this experience, and her own personal experience of running a business to support clients running their own businesses.
In her spare time, she volunteers for Guide Dogs. She puppy raises for Guide Dogs and is often out walking the pup she is raising.
Cathy joined the SLA team in mid-2016 and she brings 10 years prior accounting experience with her. She has a Diploma in Small Business Management which means she understands your small business’s needs inside and out. Cathy is Xero Certified to keep your books in top shape.
Cathy loves spending time with her friends and family, particularly her young grandchildren. She would describe herself as outgoing and optimistic, and we know her to be conscientious and compassionate. Cathy is an active member of a quiz team, and spends her weekends in the summer camping. When no one’s watching she even dances in her office.
Caryn brings a wealth of experience and a diverse skill set to the SLA team. With a strong background in finance, Caryn previously worked within the Finance Team at SkyTV in the UK and successfully ran her own bookkeeping business in South Africa. Her entrepreneurial experience, along with her meticulous attention to detail and strong financial expertise, makes her an invaluable asset as she tackles a variety of tasks at SLA.
Outside of work, Caryn is known for her loyalty, creativity, and fun-loving nature. She enjoys spending her summers camping by the beach, capturing beautiful moments through her photography—something she’s truly passionate about and excels at.
Thea is an experienced accountant with over 20 years in the field. She holds a bookkeeping diploma from Damelin and is currently completing her third year toward a degree in Accounting. Having run her own accounting business for two decades, she joined Spencer Lawrence in August 2024.
Known for her attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and excellent communication, Thea is a dedicated professional. Outside of work, she enjoys running, camping, and crocheting. A highlight of her life was running her first Comrades Marathon at 45. She is also passionate about Christmas and enjoys creating beautiful crochet items.
Our welcoming committee started with Eric, who was part of the Guide Dog Breeding stock. With his recent passing, the welcoming committee role has been taken over by Guide Dog Puppy in Training, Pax. When Pax is not learning how to be a Guide Dog, he participates in team and client meetings.
